Caring for your woven woollens
We hate to say it, but this one really is dry clean only!
It’s not something we say lightly, we always prefer the gentlest, most environmentally conscious approach to caring for our clothes. But this is a particularly beautiful and delicate wool, and dry cleaning is the best way to protect its shape, texture and finish, and keep it looking lovely for years to come.
The good news is that wool naturally benefits from being washed very infrequently. Often, simply airing it well between wears is all it needs.
I couldn’t resist this beautiful bouclé tartan the moment I laid eyes on it and inspired by the decor or our heritage shop 'At the Dairy', this tweed was chosen as a collaborative choice. Woven in Britain by a mill with a remarkable heritage in luxurious couture cloth, their fabrics adorn the runways of Paris Haute Couture houses including Balenciaga, Dior and Chanel. This tweed has the wonderful richness and character that comes from exceptional craftsmanship.
Our camel, red & black tartan is woven in mohair with wool bouclé - soft, warm and wonderfully tactile, with a slightly silky handle and a beautiful depth of colour. It’s a fabric that feels both luxurious and quietly timeless.
To let the cloth take centre stage, I’ve kept the shape chic and simple: a classic A-line mini with a slightly flared and flattering silhouette. Fully lined in luxurious viscose satin to slide on with no static.
The skirt is also available in Red Tartan and Blue Tartan.

HeyJust thought I would let you know the skirt is perfect. I have always loved a short skirt but in the last few years questioned whether it was ‘me’ anymore ….and the answer is yes it is. It’s given me the push to dig through my clothes and revisit similar items - but nothing as beautiful as this - you will find me in skirt loafers and a slouchy sweater for the foreseeable.
