Customer Service – A Personal Approach
Are there real people reading and answering my email ?
At Justine Tabak, customer service is genuinely personal. Every enquiry is overseen by Justine herself daily, ensuring that questions about fit, fabric, sizing, and styling are answered with real expertise and care.
Emails are handled by Elizabeth, and you’ll always hear from a real person who knows the collections inside out. We are a very small, hands-on team, working closely together and directly with our English makers.
Because we prioritise thoughtful, personal service over automation, responses can occasionally take a little longer during busy periods. If there is ever a delay, we truly appreciate your patience - it allows us to give every customer the attention they deserve. (We consider repeat emails as helpful prompts – not nagging!)
Our customers often tell us how much they value this human, considered approach - and we believe it’s an essential part of creating beautiful women’s clothing made in England.
The Cost of Justine Tabak Clothes
What is in the cost of your clothes?
All Justine Tabak clothing is made in the UK, where skilled makers are paid fair wages that are significantly higher than those paid in overseas factories. We choose to manufacture locally because it supports British manufacture and allows us to maintain the highest standards of quality.
We also produce in small batches as part of our slow fashion ethos. This avoids overproduction and waste, but it means we do not benefit from the economies of scale available to mass-market brands. The quality and expertise put into research, development and design is always of the highest standard.
For our customers, the advantage is clear: beautifully made, thoughtfully designed women’s clothing that feels special and unique. Our pieces are produced in limited numbers, so you are highly unlikely to walk into a room wearing the same dress as someone else.
Both Justine and our customers often comment on how frequently they are stopped in the street and asked where their dress came from - something we consider the ultimate compliment.
Where Our Clothes Are Made
Are your clothes really made in England?
Yes - all Justine Tabak garments are made in England, not just designed here. From pattern cutting to final construction, production takes place in small English workshops with skilled makers. This allows us to maintain quality, consistency, and ethical standards across every piece.
What’s the difference between “designed in England” and “made in England”?
Many brands design in England but manufacture overseas. At Justine Tabak, we do both. Being made in England means our women’s clothing supports British manufacturing, protects specialist skills, and allows us full oversight of working conditions, quality, and fit.
Why does British manufacturing matter?
Making women’s clothing in England reduces unnecessary transportation, supports local industry, and ensures garments are made to last. It also allows us to respond thoughtfully to fit, fabric, and customer feedback - something fast-fashion models simply cannot do.
Fabrics & Natural Materials
What fabrics do you use?
We specialise in natural fabrics for women’s clothing, chosen for comfort, durability, and longevity. These include:
- Scottish wool (knitted in Scotland)
- Irish linen
- Liberty Tana Lawn cotton
- Cotton corduroy and other natural fibres
We avoid unnecessary synthetics wherever possible, favouring fabrics that breathe, age beautifully, and feel good to wear.
Why choose natural fabrics over synthetic materials?
Natural fibres are better for your skin, often more sustainable, and far more durable over time. They regulate temperature, improve comfort, and align with our philosophy of slow fashion and timeless women’s clothing.
Design & Timeless Style
Who designs the Justine Tabak collection?
The collection is designed and overseen by Justine Tabak, one of the most experienced figures in British women’s fashion. Trained at the Royal College of Art, she has over 40 years’ experience on the British high street, including pioneering roles at Boden, LK Bennett, Jigsaw and Laura Ashley.
What makes Justine Tabak designs different?
Justine has seen trends come and go for four decades. Her approach is deliberately timeless, carefully considered, and wearable. Rather than chasing seasonal fashion cycles, she designs clothes that women return to year after year - pieces that work hard in real wardrobes.
Is Justine Tabak a sustainable women’s clothing brand?
We believe sustainability starts with making fewer, better clothes. By producing women’s clothing made in England, using natural fabrics, and focusing on longevity rather than trends, we offer a responsible alternative to fast fashion.
