Caring for your lace

To wash Nottingham Lace, always turn the garment inside out to protect the threads. Hand wash in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent for delicate fabrics. Avoid wringing or rubbing the lace. Rinse thoroughly in cool water until it runs clear.

Gently press out excess water by hand—do not twist or wring. Lay the garment flat on a clean towel to dry, reshaping it to preserve the design. Keep it out of direct sunlight and heat. Never tumble dry. If needed, iron on low heat, pressing on the reverse side with a cloth between the iron and lace for protection.

British heritage in a skirt! Made in lace from the world-famous Cluny Lace factory in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. A family business for generations supplying major couture houses and the Royal Family, this is the last place in England to be manufacturing cotton lace.

This classic skirt is simply fashioned into a pull-on skirt with a fine lingerie elastic at the waist; the gathers fall gently over the hips and disappear smoothly over the body. It can be dressed up for the evening with the matching top (shown here with our lace top), or dressed down with a shirt or jumper for casual glamour.

We have made a separate semi-sheer slip in a soft 'tea' colour. However, as this exquisite lace is nice and dense, you can wear it without an underslip or a colour of your own choice if you choose.

Choosing the right size: This is a neat-fitting skirt that skims and follows the natural curves of the body. The is a slight stretch in the lace that mould to your shape beautifully. Designed to fall just below knee length.
