Fabrics to cherish

At Justine Tabak, the fabrics we choose are at the heart of everything we create. We believe in quality, longevity, and the beauty of natural fibres, sourcing responsibly and celebrating traditional craftsmanship. Wherever possible, we work with fabrics from the British Isles, supporting heritage mills and skilled makers. From soft British lambswool to timeless linen and intricate Nottingham lace, each fabric is carefully selected for its authenticity, sustainability, and wearability.
Chosen to be cherished for years to come.

Liberty Tana Lawn

At Justine Tabak, we adore Liberty Tana Lawn for its timeless beauty and exceptional quality. This ultra-fine yet durable fabric feels luxuriously smooth against the skin while remaining light and breathable—perfect for everyday comfort.
Crafted from the finest long-staple cotton, it’s easy to care for and made to last. We especially love how it captures Liberty’s iconic florals and intricate prints with stunning clarity, adding a touch of elegance to every piece. A true classic, designed to be cherished forever.

Irish Linen

At Justine Tabak, we’ve always loved linen—for its beauty and its eco-friendly nature. Linen comes from flax, a remarkable plant that grows with minimal water and no chemicals, enriching the soil and leaving no waste behind. Its breathable texture softens with every wear, making it perfect for wearing all year-round.
Many of our bespoke linens are woven by Stephen and Seamus in their Irish mill, where they craft our signature checks and create sustainable, no-waste fabrics. Super easy to care for with gloriously weighty thread, linen truly is a fibre that’s as kind to the planet as it is to wear.

Scottish Wool

We are proud to work with makers in Scotland who have a long heritage of creating beautiful fine knitwear. Not only do we support the craft of knitting in the UK, almost all the yarns spun for our knitwear is sourced locally too, keeping the carbon footprint of our knits to an absolute minimum.
Many of our knitwear pieces are created ‘in the round’, a process of seam free whole garment knitting where the jumpers are cast off the machines as a complete piece with zero waste.

Nottingham Lace

We buy our lace Cluny Lace Company, the last remaining lace maker in England. Owned by the Mason family for nearly 200 years, they have a long history of making distinctive patterns of lace from their vast archives. Their purposely designed factory, built around 1900, is situated on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in the heart of the UK.
Despite its delicate appearance, this lace is surprisingly strong and designed to stand the test of time: an enduring fabric woven with history and heart.

Pure Silk

At Justine Tabak, we choose pure silk taffeta and silk twill for their luxurious texture and effortless wearability. Both fabrics are naturally temperature-regulating, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making them perfect for year-round comfort.
With their smooth finish and subtle sheen, these silks feel incredibly soft against the skin, and their weight adds a sophisticated structure. Best of all, silk doesn’t need constant ironing, staying fresh and polished throughout the day—elegant, practical, and beautifully timeless.

Pure Cotton

At Justine Tabak, we adore pure cotton for its unmatched versatility and timeless appeal. A fabric that has stood the test of time, cotton offers natural breathability, durability, and comfort. Whether it’s the velvety texture of corduroy, the crisp feel of typewriter cotton, or the airy charm of seersucker, each weave brings something unique.
We have good relationships with few suppliers so that we can track our cotton qualities and provenance. Cotton is known for high water consumption in its production but there are initiatives to ensure it can be made as consciously as possible. We work with suppliers who support the Better Cotton Initiative and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and those who are committed to responsible practices.
