Caring for your linen
To care for linen, always turn garments inside out before washing. Use lukewarm water (30°C or less) on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Fasten buttons and hooks before washing.
Do not wring or tumble dry—air dry instead. If drying in the sun, avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading (except for white linen, which brightens in the sun). Iron while damp for a crisp finish, pressing from the inside to avoid shine. Embrace linen’s natural texture and gentle creasing—it’s part of its charm!
The Mariner dress is based on our best selling Lavenham Dress, a timeless and effortlessly elegant shape crafted in a bespoke Irish linen twill of 'jeans' and 'jute blue' thread. We’ve given it a nod to a sailor with a square neck, hand finished with cream running stitch embroidery.
The style is effortless and flatters all sizes, with its soft, feminine silhouette. Cut with deep bust darts so that the fabric curves around the body. The slightly flared skirt is gently gathered at the nipped-in waist and then flows to the midi-length hem.
No need for a zip, this is an easy fit dress, with a gently raised waist and natural shoulder line. If you are between sizes, we suggest you size down. Wear loose and free or cinched at the waist with a belt, this versatile style can be dressed up or down.
