Caring for your linen

To care for linen, always turn garments inside out before washing. Use lukewarm water (30°C or less) on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Fasten buttons and hooks before washing.

Do not wring or tumble dry—air dry instead. If drying in the sun, avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading (except for white linen, which brightens in the sun). Iron while damp for a crisp finish, pressing from the inside to avoid shine. Embrace linen’s natural texture and gentle creasing—it’s part of its charm!

The new Stepney dress has all the hallmarks of our 'pretty and practical' ethos. Beautiful Irish linen crafted into an easy, short sleeve dress with a feminine edge. Scoop neck top with deep bust darts for a flattering fit on all bust sizes. Front faced for a clean neckline finish. Gently puffed sleeve with a tuck at the sleeve edge to create a soft petal like shape, nice and loose so it doesn't grip the arm. Raised waist with a baby-locked visible stitch to enhance the beauty of the linen. And of course, our signature pockets.

We have worked with an Irish linen maker to produce two perfectly matched linens; a cobalt blue gingham for the top and nautical stripe for the skirt Like all our linens, the fabric has been pre-washed and softly tumbled, weighty yet fluid. The quality of the linen means that it softly 'rumples' rather than creating any hard creases.

100% Linen woven in Ireland

Flax is a naturally sustainable fibre grown with rainwater alone (no polluting fertilisers!). It leaves the ground replenished with nutrients.

Choosing your size: This dress is cut to be easy and relaxed. If you are between sizes or prefer a slightly more fitted look, please size down.

Justine is 166cm tall (5ft,5). Her bust is 89cm (35in) and her waist is 74cm (29in). She is wearing a size Small as she loves wearing this dress true to size.

Gorgeous summer dress

This is a beautiful summer dress, so comfortable to wear. Easy, breezy style. Top quality linen fabrics too, I love the contrast between the two prints. Timeless design that I feel I’ll wear for years! The attention to detail and the finishing is fantastic. I love my Justine Tabak dresses, and I am trying hard to “buy once, buy better” with my wardrobe!

Stepney is my favourite summer dress

I love this easy breezy beautiful Irish linen dress. I don’t know whether it’s the blue vertical stripes with the blue checks, or the natural fibre or the little tucks, that makes me wear it on repeat. It makes me feel like I’m on the beach and makes me smile💙🌟💙

Too big and billowy on me

Loved the fabric but the style was too big and billowing on me, so had to return unfortunately

Dear Bridget , I am sorry that the extra small dress was too big for you. Justine's dresses are cut genously. Perhaps you might, like to try at a more fitted style in future - the Bohemian, Saltaire, Kensington for example; these dresses are far less billowly. Eliz x
